Sangma urged for additional manpower along the Meghalaya-Bangladesh border and reassured the public of the government's commitment to maintaining peace and security. Shah provided assurances that the Indian government is taking comprehensive steps to safeguard the border. The NPP, led by Sangma, has recently formed the government for a second consecutive term after winning 26 seats in the Assembly elections.
