ESPN relocates 'SportsCenter' production from Los Angeles to Bristol

ESPN has announced the relocation of its Los Angeles-based 'SportsCenter' and soccer programming to its headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, impacting 35 out of 229 employees at the L.A. Production Center. The final L.A. edition of 'SportsCenter' is scheduled for May 16, marking the end of over 19 years of production in Los Angeles since the center opened in April 2006. Employees will have the option to move to Bristol to retain their positions or accept severance if they decline relocation. Despite these changes, ESPN's NBA shows, including 'NBA Today,' will continue to be produced in Los Angeles. ESPN stated that the decision was based on current business needs and is separate from any potential acquisition of NFL Media. The move reflects a significant shift for the iconic program, which has been on the air since 1979.
