Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Against Dolan and Lansing Police

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the family of Stephen Romero, who was shot and killed by Lansing police in December 2023, citing thorough independent reviews clearing the officers of wrongdoing. Separately, a federal judge in California dismissed a lawsuit against Madison Square Garden CEO James Dolan and former Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein. Kellye Croft, a massage therapist, accused Dolan of sexual assault and facilitating an encounter leading to Weinstein sexually assaulting her. The judge dismissed the sex trafficking allegations with prejudice but allowed the possibility for Croft to refile other claims. Dolan's attorney denied the allegations, asserting there is compelling evidence to support Dolan's innocence. Croft's legal team announced plans to appeal the decision and continue pursuing the sexual battery claims.
