Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction 2025 Shortlist Announced
The shortlist for the 2025 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction has been announced, featuring six diverse books that explore complex subjects and celebrate female voices. Among the shortlisted authors is music icon Neneh Cherry, recognized for her memoir A Thousand Threads, alongside palliative care doctor Rachel Clarke for her work The Story of A Heart, which discusses organ donation's life-giving impact. Other notable titles include Claire Mulley's biography of WWII resistance fighter Elżbieta Zawacka and Yuan Yang's Private Revolutions, reflecting on contemporary China. Kavita Puri, chair of the judging panel, emphasized that the selected narratives illuminate the bond between humanity and nature while challenging societal norms. The winner will be revealed at a ceremony on June 12 in London, with each prize winner receiving £30,000. The prize aims to amplify female voices and honor works that inform and inspire.
