Five Juveniles Arrested for Robbing Man on Train

Five juveniles, including an 11-year-old girl, have been charged with battering and robbing a 63-year-old man named Michael Manning on a CTA train in Chicago on July 8. The group, which included two girls aged 11 and 15, and three boys aged 14 and 16, attacked the victim on an Orange Line train and stole his debit card. All suspects were arrested on Tuesday in the 7000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue and charged with felony robbery and aggravated battery of a victim 60 years or older. A police alert with surveillance photos was issued to help identify the suspects, and any additional information can be reported to the Bureau of Detectives — Mass Transit. Manning recounted the shocking experience, stating that he was attacked after standing up in an attempt to avoid confrontation with the group.
