Louisiana Father Turns Self In Over Infant Murder Charges

Taylor Broussard, father of a 2-month-old girl who died from severe abuse, has turned himself in to authorities and been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on charges including first-degree murder, cruelty to juveniles, and second-degree battery. The child's mother, Kaylee Fontenot, was previously taken into custody on the same charges. The infant was found unresponsive on October 25 in Opelousas and later pronounced dead at a hospital, with an autopsy revealing extreme dehydration, malnourishment, multiple broken ribs with signs of healing, and a severed lower spine causing fatal internal bleeding. Both parents are under investigation for severe neglect and physical abuse. Authorities continue to seek information from the public to aid the ongoing investigation.
