CBP seizes 339 pounds of cocaine at Ambassador Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized approximately 339 pounds of cocaine from a Canada-bound commercial vehicle during an inspection near Detroit's Ambassador Bridge. The cocaine, concealed in duffel bags and moving boxes, was discovered during a routine examination, and subsequent testing confirmed its identity. The truck, trailer, and drugs were confiscated, and the driver, an Indian citizen, was taken into custody to face federal prosecution. Authorities noted that more than 1,500 pounds of cocaine have been seized at Michigan ports of entry during the current fiscal year, emphasizing ongoing efforts to intercept illicit drug trafficking at border crossings. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security and ICE.
