Dr. Shahid Siddique Shot Dead in Lahore

Dr. Shahid Siddique, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and owner of Iqra Hospital, was shot dead outside a mosque in Lahore's Valencia Town after Friday prayers. Unidentified gunmen on motorcycles attacked him, firing multiple bullets before fleeing the scene. Witnesses report that Siddique was with his son and driver at the time but they were unharmed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The Punjab police have launched an investigation and formed a special team to apprehend the perpetrators, while IGP Dr. Usman Anwar has emphasized the need for immediate arrests. This incident follows heightened tensions between PTI and the authorities after the May 9 riots involving the party's supporters.
