Uber has formed a strategic partnership with Wayve, a London-based startup specializing in 'Embodied AI' for autonomous vehicles, alongside investing in its Series C funding round. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of advanced driver-assistance systems (Level 2+) and Level 3 automated driving capabilities, with an eye toward creating scalable Level 4 autonomous vehicles for Uber’s platform. Unlike traditional mapping methods, Wayve utilizes a mapless AI approach, allowing vehicles to operate without geographical limitations, potentially enhancing Uber's service across multiple global markets.
