Subsea7 Wins $50M-$150M Contract for Shell Aphrodite Project Offshore Trinidad

Subsea7 has been awarded a sizeable contract by Shell for the Aphrodite gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago, involving the transportation and installation of subsea equipment at water depths up to 290 meters. Project management and engineering activities will commence immediately from Subsea7's Houston office, with offshore operations planned for 2027, coinciding with the project's expected first gas production and peak output. The contract's value is estimated between $50 million and $150 million, reflecting Subsea7's expanding presence in the region and commitment to safe and efficient project delivery while supporting local talent. The Aphrodite project, located within Block 5a, follows Shell's recent final investment decision and aims to produce gas to backfill the Atlantic LNG complex, with a peak production of approximately 107 million cubic feet per day. Craig Broussard, Senior Vice President for Subsea7 Gulf of Mexico, emphasized the importance of early engagement with Shell to build trust and drive efficiencies.
