Moldova Discovers Russian Drones After Airspace Incursions

On November 10, Moldova's airspace was violated by two Russian drones, prompting condemnation from Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, who emphasized the danger posed to Moldovan citizens and reiterated the country's stance against Russia's aggression in Ukraine. One of the drones, identified as a decoy used to mislead Ukrainian air defenses, was found in the Căușeni district, while a second drone, a Shahed UAV, was discovered near Novi Boroseni in the Rîșcani district. Both drones reportedly entered Moldovan airspace during a large-scale Russian drone attack on Ukraine that night. Authorities confirmed that neither drone contained explosives and that there was no immediate danger to the public. The situation reflects ongoing tensions in the region, as the Ukrainian Air Force reported a record number of drones launched at Ukraine during this period. Moldova's police are continuing investigations into the incidents and have secured the areas where the drones were found.
