Acer Unveils Ultralight Swift Air 16 Laptop for Europe Launch

At IFA 2025, Acer unveiled the Swift Air 16, its lightest Copilot+ PC yet, targeting the ultraportable laptop market and positioning itself as a competitor to Apple's MacBook Air. The 16-inch laptop weighs just under 1 kg (2.18 pounds) for the IPS model and slightly more for the AMOLED option, which features a 120Hz 2880x1800 display, making it lighter than comparable MacBook Air models. Powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors with integrated Radeon graphics, the Swift Air 16 offers up to 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage, and up to 13 hours of battery life, though its HDMI 1.4 port is somewhat outdated for 2025 standards. The laptop includes robust connectivity options, a privacy-shutter webcam with facial recognition, and a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis available in multiple colors. Despite its impressive weight and screen size, reviewers note that it is thicker than the MacBook Air and that Apple's M4 chip outperforms Acer's Ryzen AI chips in efficiency and battery life.
