Storm Conall Brings Heavy Rain to England

Storm Conall is poised to bring significant rainfall to parts of southern England on November 27th, with the Met Office warning that areas such as the Isle of Wight, Sussex, and Kent could receive up to 50mm of rain. A yellow rain warning is in effect, with expectations of 15-20mm widely and 30-40mm in certain locations, potentially leading to travel disruptions and localized flooding. This storm follows Storm Bert, which caused substantial flooding and damage just days prior. As of Tuesday evening, 93 flood warnings and over 128 flood alerts were issued across the UK, with a severe warning in place for areas near the River Nene. Chris Wilding from the Environment Agency indicated that additional flooding impacts are likely, particularly in the south and east of England. The average November rainfall in southern England is 87.1mm, highlighting the severity of the incoming storm's forecasted precipitation.
