Alabama, Michigan National Guards Deploy to Border

Both Alabama and Michigan are deploying additional National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist with border security operations. Alabama's Governor Kay Ivey announced the deployment of 125 soldiers from the 152nd Military Police Company, as part of ongoing efforts to support Customs and Border Protection, with 269 soldiers currently stationed at the border. Meanwhile, Michigan is sending approximately 120 soldiers from the 1463rd Transportation Company, marking the state's fifth deployment to the border since 2020. Governor Gretchen Whitmer emphasized the professionalism of the Michigan National Guard and their bipartisan service history, noting previous deployments under both Presidents Trump and Biden. Both deployments aim to bolster the border security efforts while enabling law enforcement operations.
