Amir Jangoo Joins West Indies Test Squad

Amir Jangoo has received his first Test call-up to the West Indies squad for the upcoming two-match series against Pakistan, beginning January 17, 2025. He has been recognized for his outstanding domestic performance, scoring 500 runs at an average of 100 in the 2024 regional First-Class season, along with a century on his ODI debut against Bangladesh. Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie also returns to the team, while fast bowlers Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph are unavailable due to injury and other commitments, respectively. Head coach Andre Coley emphasized the importance of building on past successes and applying lessons learned from the 2024 season. This series marks the West Indies' first Test matches in Pakistan in over 18 years, with the team departing for Islamabad on January 2, 2025.
