Sting launched the North American leg of his "Sting 3.0" tour on September 17, 2024, at The Fillmore in Detroit, performing alongside longtime collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas. The concert featured a balanced mix of classic hits from both his solo career and his time with The Police, including "Message in a Bottle," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," and his new single "I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)." The show underscored Sting's ability to reimagine his well-known songs in a stripped-down trio format, enhancing their emotional impact. This tour marks Sting's return to a trio setting for the first time since his 2007-08 reunion with The Police and is part of a series of multi-night performances across North America. Following Detroit, the tour will continue to cities such as Toronto, Philadelphia, and New York before concluding in Los Angeles. Sting also recently stepped in as a last-minute headliner at both the Bourbon & Beyond and Ohana festivals after Neil Young's withdrawal.
