Miami Honors Former Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart at Memorial Mass

The Miami Cuban exile community gathered on Saturday to honor former Congressman Lincoln Díaz-Balart, who passed away at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer. The memorial service at Corpus Christi Catholic Church was attended by family, friends, and notable figures, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former Governor Jeb Bush. Díaz-Balart, a significant advocate for democracy in Cuba and immigrant rights during his 18 years in Congress, was remembered for his dedication and impact on the Cuban American community. His family expressed heartfelt tributes, with his brother José emphasizing Lincoln's commitment to fighting for the oppressed. Flags across Florida were flown at half-staff in recognition of his contributions and legacy, leaving a lasting mark on those who continue to strive for freedom in Cuba. Lincoln is survived by his wife Cristina, son Daniel, and two grandsons.
