Charlotte 49ers Fire Head Coach Biff Poggi

The Charlotte 49ers have fired head football coach Biff Poggi after less than two seasons, citing his 3-7 record for the 2024 season and overall 6-16 performance. Poggi, an unconventional hire with limited college coaching experience, was previously successful as a high school coach and served as an associate head coach at Michigan. His tenure ended amid a four-game losing streak, including a significant loss to South Florida. Tim Brewster, the associate head coach and tight ends coach, will serve as interim head coach for the remaining games. Poggi is the fifth AAC coach dismissed this year.
