Sujoy Ghosh Reflects on Badla Filming Challenges

Director Sujoy Ghosh recently shared insights into the filming of his 2019 mystery thriller 'Badla', emphasizing the dedication of Amitabh Bachchan, who rehearsed a scene up to 17 times, causing exhaustion among the crew, including Taapsee Pannu, who nearly fainted. Ghosh described Bachchan as a significant influence in his life and highlighted how Pannu was instrumental in bringing the film's script to him initially. He initially declined to direct until Akshay Kumar and Sunil Khetrapal assured him he could cast Bachchan and rewrite the script. 'Badla' was produced on a budget of ₹20 crore and grossed around ₹140 crore worldwide, receiving acclaim for its engaging storyline and strong performances. Ghosh humorously noted Pannu's creative ideas, which he often found challenging but endearing. The film follows a businesswoman accused of murder and features a stellar cast including Amrita Singh.
