Twins Activate Simeon Woods Richardson From Injured List Ahead Toronto Series Finale

The Minnesota Twins have activated right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson from the 15-day injured list ahead of their series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. Woods Richardson had been on a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul after missing much of August due to an illness caused by a parasite in his digestive tract. During his rehab, he made two appearances, pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing four runs (three earned). This season, Woods Richardson has made 17 appearances with a 5-4 record and a 4.24 ERA. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, the Twins optioned right-hander Pierson Ohl to Triple-A St. Paul. Given the recent illness and limited rehab workload, Woods Richardson's outing against a strong Blue Jays lineup may be cautiously managed.
