Ajax targets Tariq Lamptey, prepares £1.5 million bid

Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey is reportedly a transfer target for Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam as the January transfer window approaches its closure. With only six months left on his contract with Brighton & Hove Albion, Lamptey is eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with other clubs. Ajax is preparing a £1.5 million bid for the 24-year-old, who has struggled for consistent game time this season under manager Fabian Hürzeler. Despite contributing two goals and two assists in 10 Premier League appearances, Lamptey's playing time has been limited, leading him to explore options outside Brighton. In addition to Ajax, other clubs including Leicester City and West Ham have shown interest in the versatile wing-back.
