Nangolo Mbumba Sworn In as Namibian President

Namibia's vice-president, Nangolo Mbumba, was sworn in as the interim president, following the death of Hage Geingob. He appointed former deputy prime minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as his vice-president, marking her as the first female vice-president of Namibia. Mbumba has held several ministerial positions under the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) and has been sworn in as the fourth president, taking charge until November 2024 when the country will hold its general election.
