Prince William Visits Northern Ireland to Address Homelessness

Prince William made a surprise visit to Northern Ireland on November 14, focusing on his Homewards initiative aimed at combating youth homelessness. His first engagement was at The Foyer, a shelter for young people, where he interacted with residents and learned about the support provided by Simon Community, which is part of a coalition targeting homelessness among care leavers. He also visited Ulster University to discuss the creative industries and how local projects can be scaled to prevent homelessness. The Prince's efforts are part of a broader strategy to address the alarming statistic that one-third of youth exiting care in the UK experience homelessness within two years. This visit marks his first return to the city since June 2023, when he promoted his homelessness initiative across the UK. William's work is supported by The Royal Foundation, which aims to enhance initiatives like the Housing First For Youth service.
