Producers, Cast Set for Sam Mendes' Beatles Films

Sam Mendes' 'The Beatles—A Four Film Cinematic Event' will comprise four films, each exploring the band's story from the perspective of one member: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, or Ringo Starr, with the narratives intersecting throughout. The screenplays will be crafted by award-winning writers Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne, though it is unclear if each will write a separate film or collaborate on all. The all-British main cast features Harris Dickinson as Lennon, Paul Mescal as McCartney, Joseph Quinn as Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Starr. This marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film project. The films are set for global release by Sony Pictures in April 2028. Production is led by Sam Mendes, his Neal Street Productions team, and Alexandra Derbyshire.
