Gerald Boyle, the attorney renowned for defending serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, passed away at the age of 88 on November 17, 2024. Boyle, who became one of Wisconsin’s most sought-after defense attorneys after the 1992 Dahmer trial, also handled other notable cases, including the defense of former Green Bay Packer Mark Chmura and Green Bay arson detective John Maloney. Boyle's career was marked by both high-profile successes and challenges, such as the 'Seinfeld case,' where a $24.7 million verdict was overturned, leading to a lawsuit against him. His daughter Bridget highlighted his commitment to justice and described him as a beacon of support for his clients. A visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial are scheduled for November 30 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee. Boyle is survived by his wife Marna and their children, who upheld his legacy in the legal field.
