A tragic two-car crash near Tavistock, Devon, resulted in the death of a 46-year-old man and left a young child with life-threatening injuries. The collision, involving a Vauxhall Astra and a Kia Rio, occurred at approximately 12:55 PM on August 26. Emergency services reported that the man, who was a front seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, while four others, including the child, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A man in his 30s from Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further investigation. Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage to assist in their inquiries. The road was reopened in the early hours of August 27 following the incident.
