Seventeen Arrested in Bristol Immigration Raid

Seventeen individuals suspected of working illegally as delivery drivers were arrested at a caravan park in Bristol during a raid by Immigration Enforcement. Thirteen of those arrested had overstayed their visas, while others were found to be in breach of their immigration bail conditions. Of the arrested, 13 are currently detained pending removal from the UK, while the remaining four have been placed on immigration bail. Officials from the Home Office highlighted the exploitation of migrant workers in the delivery sector, who often work long hours for less than minimum wage. Minister for Border Security Angela Eagle emphasized the government's commitment to combatting illegal working and the exploitation that accompanies it, particularly by organized criminal gangs. This operation is part of a broader initiative to enforce immigration laws and protect vulnerable workers.
