Julie Straus Found Safe After Silver Alert

Former Texas House First Lady Julie Straus, 64, was reported missing from her Terrell Hills home Thursday evening and a Silver Alert was issued after she was last seen around 6:30–6:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Geneseo Road. Police said she has dementia, her caregiver lost sight of her, and described her clothing, urging residents to check properties and report tips to Terrell Hills Police. A multi-agency search involving helicopters, K‑9s and numerous first responders scoured the area as state lawmakers and former colleagues posted prayers and urged public help. Authorities later confirmed Friday that Straus was found and is safe and reportedly in good health, prompting relief from family and officials.
