Anna Henderson Leads Giro d’Italia Women After Stage 2
Anna Henderson of Great Britain won stage two of the Giro d'Italia Women, claiming her first Women's WorldTour victory after breaking away with Dilyxine Miermont and winning in an uphill sprint. This performance earned Henderson the pink jersey and a 15-second overall lead over stage one winner Marlen Reusser. Henderson, an Olympic time-trial silver medallist, credited her team's aggressive strategy for the win. Defending champion Elisa Longo Borghini finished sixth and is now third overall, 31 seconds behind Henderson. Several race favorites, including world champion Lotte Kopecky, lost time on the climbs, impacting their standings. The eight-day race continues with a challenging Alpine stage between Vezza d'Oglio and Trento.
