Similarly, in Ohio, multiple waterspouts were spotted over Lake Erie near Cedar Point, with one filmed by Joe Burkhardt in the morning. These waterspouts are attributed to colder air moving over warmer lake waters, creating the necessary conditions for their formation. Experts caution that while visually striking, waterspouts can be dangerous to watercraft and should be avoided.
