Kang Invests $25 Million to Advance Women's Soccer Development

Michele Kang, owner of the Washington Spirit, has announced a $25 million investment into U.S. Soccer aimed at advancing the development of women's soccer through her organization, Kynisca. This funding, revealed at the SheBelieves Summit in Los Angeles, is part of a larger initiative to integrate Kynisca's research capabilities into U.S. Soccer's Soccer Forward Foundation, following her previous $30 million pledge last November. Kang's contributions represent the largest investment in women's and girls' programs in U.S. Soccer's history, intended to enhance competitive opportunities, talent identification, and the professional development of female athletes. Kang, who has expanded her portfolio to include several clubs in both the U.S. and Europe, emphasized the importance of collaboration in breaking down systemic barriers in women's sports. U.S. Soccer CEO JT Batson noted that this partnership will significantly enhance resources dedicated to women's soccer at a national level. Together, they aim to establish new standards and practices to support the growth and success of female athletes.
