Cristiano Ronaldo is close to signing a contract extension with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, committing to stay until at least June 2026, with a potential extension to 2027 also possible. Despite earlier hints from Ronaldo suggesting he might leave, including his social media post saying "the chapter is over," the Portuguese star has been persuaded to remain at the club. Al Nassr failed to qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup, and Ronaldo reportedly declined offers from other clubs participating in the tournament to continue his career in Saudi Arabia. The new deal, still pending official announcement and final paperwork, could last one or two years, and Ronaldo’s previous contract was among the highest-paying in the world. The club finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season and recently parted ways with head coach Stefano Pioli. Ronaldo, who has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al Nassr, aims to help the club secure a league title and add more trophies to his collection.
