Director Raaj Shaandilyaa has clarified that his upcoming film 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video', featuring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, is not inspired by the 2014 Hollywood movie 'Sex Tape'. He emphasized that he has not seen the film and that 'Vicky Vidya...' is based on his own life experiences, focusing on a married couple's frantic search for a lost CD of their wedding night video. The film is set in the 1990s and is distinct in its narrative, with Shaandilyaa stating, 'There’s no sex in our film'. Additionally, he is already working on a sequel that will explore the early days of the Internet, planned to be shot after completing another project. The film is set to release on October 11, 2024, and has generated significant anticipation following Rao's success in 'Stree 2'. The screenplay development began in 2018 and was co-written by Yusuf Ali Khan.
