Man Dies in Shooting at King's Ridge Apartments

A shooting in Newport News on Sunday evening resulted in the death of 22-year-old Julian Richardson from Hampton. Police responded to the incident at around 7:20 p.m. on Chalice Court, where they found Richardson inside a home with a gunshot wound; he later died from his injuries. The incident occurred in the northern part of the city at King’s Ridge Apartments, near Jefferson Avenue. Detectives are currently canvassing the area and collecting forensic evidence, but there is no suspect information available at this time. The Newport News Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact them via 911, the non-emergency line, or anonymously through the Crime Line or P3 tips app.
