Miriam Margolyes, the 83-year-old Harry Potter actress, has expressed her concerns about her health, admitting she believes she has 'probably going to die within the next five or six years, if not before'. Despite her struggles with spinal stenosis and the limitations imposed by age, she remains passionate about acting and is set to perform a new stage show about Charles Dickens at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Margolyes revealed that she recently underwent heart surgery, a transcatheter aortic valve replacement, which spared her from a more invasive procedure. She described the surgery humorously, stating, 'I’ve got a cow’s heart now' due to the use of a cow's valve in her operation. While she yearns to take on more diverse roles, she feels constrained by her physical condition, which she finds 'limiting and depressing'. Nevertheless, she is determined to continue performing as long as she can, emphasizing the joy it brings her.
