Second Teen Dies After Lake St. Clair Jet Ski Collision

A tragic jet ski accident occurred on Lake St. Clair near Couture Beach in the Municipality of Lakeshore, Ontario, on August 14, 2025, involving a personal watercraft towing a tube that struck a steel breakwall. Four teenage girls were rescued from the water by first responders and nearby residents; a 17-year-old from Windsor-Essex died shortly after the incident, and a 16-year-old from Calgary, who had been airlifted with life-threatening injuries, died nearly a week later. Two other girls, aged 15 and 17, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their investigation into the collision, with various units involved, and have expressed condolences to those affected by the tragedy.
