PDC Announces £7m Prize Increase for 2026 Season

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has announced a historic £7 million increase in prize money for the 2026 season, raising the total to over £25 million. The World Darts Championship winner will now receive a £1 million prize, double the previous amount, as part of efforts to expand and increase earning potential for players. The tournament will feature an expanded 128-player field competing for a £5 million prize fund. Other major events like the Premier League, World Matchplay, and Grand Slam of Darts will also see substantial increases in their prize funds. This expansion follows a significant TV rights deal with Sky Sports, contributing to darts' rapid growth in popularity and financial stakes. PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter emphasized the organization's commitment to enhancing opportunities at all levels within the sport.
