Saints Hire Doug Nussmeier, Moore as Head Coach

The New Orleans Saints have hired Doug Nussmeier as their new offensive coordinator, reuniting him with head coach Kellen Moore. Nussmeier, who was the quarterbacks coach for the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, has extensive experience working with Moore from their time together at the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers. This marks Nussmeier's first NFL offensive coordinator role, although he has held similar positions at the collegiate level, including at Alabama and Michigan. Moore, who succeeded Dennis Allen as the Saints' head coach, will handle the play-calling duties, while Nussmeier focuses on game-planning and offensive development. The Saints are also expected to announce a new defensive coordinator soon, likely Brandon Staley from the Los Angeles Rams. This strategic hiring move aims to infuse the Saints with fresh ideas and build a competitive team for the 2025 season.
