Islanders Add Drouin, Extend Foudy and Gauthier
The New York Islanders have signed forward Jonathan Drouin to a two-year, $8 million contract following his 56-point season with the Colorado Avalanche, including three playoff assists. Drouin, a former third-overall draft pick with 11 years of NHL experience, is expected to contribute as a playmaker and could fill a second-line winger role. The team also signed Liam Foudy and Julien Gauthier to one-year, two-way deals to strengthen organizational depth, with both players likely spending much of the season in the AHL with Bridgeport. Foudy, who tallied 45 points in 70 AHL games last season, will compete for an NHL roster spot at training camp. These signings reflect the Islanders’ strategy of blending experienced NHL talent with developing prospects as they pursue a postseason return and long-term success.
