Ewan McGregor, famed for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, has expressed enthusiasm for a potential third season of the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor, despite the series creator Tony Gilroy designing it to conclude after two seasons. Speaking at Fan Expo Canada, McGregor shared that upon watching both seasons, he became excited at the thought that his character might fit into the timeline, though he quickly realized a Season 3 was unlikely. He praised the show’s quality and revealed he initially missed its release but later binge-watched it with his son, becoming engrossed in the storyline. McGregor hinted at the possibility of crossover stories within the Star Wars universe and made a lighthearted plea to Disney to consider continuing the series. Andor, starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, chronicles the Rebel Alliance's early fight against the Galactic Empire and has received widespread acclaim since its debut in 2022, with its second season released in April 2025. Despite McGregor’s interest, official plans for Season 3 remain unlikely as the narrative was intended to lead directly into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
