Israel Strikes Multiple Military Targets Southern Syria Amid Sectarian Clashes

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes in southern Syria's Suweida province targeting tanks and military installations used by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) forces, aiming to prevent their advance towards a Druze village amid escalating sectarian clashes. The strikes followed intense fighting between local Druze fighters, Bedouin tribes, and HTS militants that has resulted in nearly 100 deaths and hundreds of injuries over a few days. The Israeli military emphasized its intent to prevent any military threat in southern Syria, with Defence Minister Israel Katz warning Damascus directly after the airstrikes. Meanwhile, the United Nations reported a recent surge in violence against Palestinians by Israeli settlers and security forces in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. These developments highlight the ongoing regional tensions involving Israel, Syria, and Palestinian territories amid sectarian and political conflicts.
