A significant fraud has been uncovered involving the Ladki Bahin Yojana in Navi Mumbai, where a man from Satara district is alleged to have submitted 30 applications using the Aadhaar card numbers of 30 individuals. This individual reportedly utilized one woman's photograph, altered in various outfits, to impersonate her as 27 distinct applicants. The scam surfaced when Kharghar resident Pooja Mahamuni discovered her application had been submitted without her knowledge. Former corporator Nilesh Baviskar assisted Mahamuni in investigating, leading to the discovery that all applications were linked to a single mobile number and bank account. A complaint has been filed with the Panvel tehsil office, although no FIR has been initiated yet. Concerns have been raised about the management and security of the government scheme, highlighting vulnerabilities in the application process.
