Two Teachers Arrested on Child-Sex Charges

Two educators were arrested this week on child-sex-related charges: Jawan Johnson, 32, in Chatham County, Georgia, and Jordan Kacie Hawk, 26, a teacher at Miami Lakes K-8 Center. Johnson was charged with grooming a minor for a sexual offense involving a former student, was booked into the Chatham County Detention Center, and the investigation remains active. The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System has reassigned Johnson to a non-school-based position with no student contact and said it is cooperating with law enforcement while prioritizing student safety. Hawk was arrested on a North Carolina warrant alleging four counts of indecent liberties with a minor in Kannapolis; she waived extradition in Miami-Dade court and is to be transferred to North Carolina within 30 days or released if not picked up. Both school districts say they have removed or limited the educators' school duties and are cooperating with investigators as the cases proceed.
