Shaktikanta Das Earns A+ Rating Again

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has received an 'A+' rating for the second consecutive year in the 2024 Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards, recognizing his exceptional performance in managing India's monetary policy. The annual report evaluates central bank governors from around 100 countries, grading them on criteria such as inflation control, economic growth, currency stability, and interest rate management. Alongside Das, Denmark's Christian Kettel Thomsen and Switzerland's Thomas Jordan also received the 'A+' rating, highlighting their effective leadership in challenging economic conditions. Global Finance founder Joseph Giarraputo noted that central bankers have effectively tackled inflation through higher interest rates, leading to significant declines in inflation worldwide. Established in 1987, Global Finance is a prominent publication with a readership of 50,000 across 193 countries, offering insights into international financial markets. The report aims to honor bank leaders whose innovative strategies set them apart from their peers.
