Atletico Madrid Signs Italy Forward Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli

Atletico Madrid has signed Italian forward Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee reported to be around €26 million ($30.14 million). The 25-year-old striker, who has won two Serie A titles with Napoli and was part of Italy's Euro 2020-winning squad, adds versatility and depth to Atletico's attacking options. Raspadori has scored nine goals in 40 appearances for Italy and made 88 Serie A appearances with Napoli, although much of his playing time came from the bench. Atletico, under manager Diego Simeone, finished third in La Liga last season and is aiming to strengthen its squad to mount a title challenge in the upcoming campaign. Raspadori joins several new signings, including Alex Baena, Johnny Cardoso, and David Hancko, as Atletico looks to improve upon a trophyless previous season. The player completed his medical in Madrid before signing and is expected to contribute significantly to Atletico’s attacking lineup.
