DHL, Daimler Truck, hylane partner on 30 electric trucks for Germany

DHL Group, Daimler Truck, and commercial vehicle rental provider hylane GmbH have partnered to introduce 30 fully electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks into DHL's Post & Parcel Germany division through hylane's innovative 'Transport as a Service' model. Under this agreement, DHL will not purchase the vehicles but will pay based on the actual kilometers driven, providing flexibility and supporting cost-effective decarbonization of logistics. The eActros 600 trucks, designed for long-distance transport with a 600 kWh battery capacity and a range of around 500 kilometers, are set for delivery by the end of the second quarter of 2026. This collaboration represents the largest electric truck contract in Germany this year and marks a strategic expansion for hylane, which has previously focused on fuel cell electric trucks. DHL emphasizes its commitment to advancing e-mobility and zero-emission logistics, while Daimler Truck highlights the economic and environmental benefits of the eActros 600. The partnership reflects a growing trend toward flexible, emission-free transport solutions in the logistics sector.
