Saudi Arabia's 'Dream of the Desert' Luxury Train

Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italian hospitality company Arsenale have unveiled the final designs for the 'Dream of the Desert' luxury train, marking a significant advancement in luxury rail travel in the Middle East. This five-star train, featuring 14 carriages and 34 luxury suites, merges opulence with cultural heritage, drawing design inspirations from Saudi Arabia's desert landscapes and traditional architecture. The train will travel along SAR's Northern Railway network, offering passengers a unique experience of Saudi Arabia's heritage sites. This project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at diversifying the economy and enhancing cultural tourism, and represents a significant collaboration between public and private sectors. Aline Asmar d’Amman, the architect behind the design, emphasized the project as a sustainable effort using existing Italian wagons. The Dream of the Desert is set to begin operations by the third quarter of 2026, redefining luxury rail travel in the region.
