Nadav Zafrir Named Check Point CEO

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has named cybersecurity veteran Nadav Zafrir as its new CEO, effective December 2024, pending shareholder approval. Zafrir, a former commander of the Israeli army’s 8200 intelligence unit and co-founder of venture capital fund Team8, will replace Gil Shwed, who will transition to the role of executive chairman. The announcement coincided with Check Point's impressive second-quarter financial results, which included a 7% increase in revenue to $627 million and an 8% rise in non-GAAP EPS to $2.17. The company's strong performance was driven by the success of its AI-driven, cloud-delivered Infinity Platform. Check Point also executed a significant share buyback program, repurchasing about 2.1 million shares for $325 million.
