Breeders’ Cup Returning to Renovated Belmont Park

The project is expected to generate 3,700 construction jobs and $155 million in annual economic output, while supporting local businesses and tourism. The 2026 Breeders’ Cup will be hosted by Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, which is also upgrading its facilities. The modernization of Belmont was a key factor in securing the event's return and is considered a major milestone by New York officials and racing industry leaders. These host site selections are intended to showcase premier thoroughbred racing at historic, newly updated venues.
