Shapiro Nominates Shirley, Rowe for Key Posts

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has nominated Jessica Shirley and Carrie Rowe to lead two key state departments. Jessica Shirley, who has been serving as the acting secretary, is nominated to officially lead the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and is recognized for her efforts in environmental protection and streamlining permitting processes. Carrie Rowe, currently the deputy secretary of elementary and secondary education, has been nominated to head the Department of Education and brings extensive experience in education, having previously served as a superintendent. Both nominations must be confirmed by the state Senate.
